I created some title screen art previously that seems a bit dated now. I have been noticing a lot of people who creating styles similar to the DOTA 2 theme. I did not want to be associated with that crowd so I wanted to play with a new concept for the menu art/title screen. When creating it I want to really focus on the letters and make them stand out so I knew I needed a serious contrast between the title and the background.

I have always loved the sci-fi ( I call it that because that is when I first saw it ) white out background but I have never used it in any of my work. I figured why not give it a go and it turned out nice. I saw the need for a bit more noise otherwise it would look a bit too much like a clean sci-fi menu so I added the clouds. For the final product I will add in some particles that spawn like a fire/flame and travel from the left lower corner to the center area. I might have a highlight of red in them or blue... not sure at this point.

Looks nice, a bit Assassins Creed-y, but still nice. I think the idea of particles could either make it or ruin it depending on how they are implemented.
Yeah, i could see where you would think that, I didnt think of that... hm...

I agree with the particle thing, I want them to be ashe like you would see from a flame, although you will not see the flame, they would be white, black and maybe a blue ( not sure on the blue though or maybe red )

EDIT: Just found your post in the official site, I think it's nice, but as for the particles, you could remove those clouds and use the particle system for that effect, this way the clouds would have some movement. what do you think ?
I thought of the same thing... but not sure how or if I want to do that. I guess that will be something I do when I play with the title screen... :P This will be the base art for all the character creation and realm listings.... so I want it to be smooth and clean. We will see how that turns out.

Looks good, I like the particle idea, but I'm not crazy about the dude... I was thinking about what things (castle in the mist?) to add earlier but couldn't think of anything better than keeping it empty.
The dude is just a test... thank you for the compliments.
Those particles look great, sort of like ash drifting across the screen.

Also as for the guy, maybe you can have an important part of the game shown there or (based on you comment above) the player's custom character.
