Day X+4-5: Project Universal Secret. A Little Change

Posted by Night Lone, 17 October 2013 · 320 views
Programming, Game Development and 2 more...
My original plan, well lets just say, was a bit ambitious and foolish. I realized this thanks to a friend who inadvertently made me realize that simulating all what I wanted to simulate was...stupid for one man to try it alone. Thankfully I'm reverting to a simpler piece of the original game, and changing the genre. Instead of focusing on an entire univer...

Day X+4: Project Universal Secret. GUI

Posted by Night Lone, 15 October 2013 · 317 views

It was a pretty lazy day at the start; didn't really do any coding at all. Started planning the GUI though; I also started thinking of some more fine details of the game. Now I don't want the player to manage too many things, but here's what will need to be managed (as of the concept right now) Health, and Food. When wearing a suit, the following are also...

Day x+3: Project Universal Secret. Fixing Phantom

Programming, C++ and 3 more...
Well, I was really Lazy on Day X+3; Fixing Phantom wasn't as hard as I figured. It is still in the code of course, but it doesn't crash the whole system. I gave the system to my mother to test it (she crashed it the first minute last time I showed her, so it seems she's a VERY good beta tester) She actually didn't crash it this time...Next step: Sister......

Day X+2: Project Universal Secret. The Phantom Piece

C++, Programming and 3 more...
Stayed up until 11:30PM dealing with, what I named, "The Phantom Piece". Originally the name was to describe how it'll act; a "ghost" piece that helps you see where you're going to put the piece, before putting it there. Unfortunately the Phantom Piece did a lot more than that. It allowed me to see problems and bugs in the code, which I thank, but it was...

Day X+1: Project Universal Secret. Deleting And Adding

Programming, C++, Irrlicht and 1 more...
I've decided to do these things before I start coding to review yesterday's work, and to ensure I don't add more during it!
To summarize, I've did some coding of the main feature of the game, adding and deleting parts of the space ship. It all works like a charm! There's just one tiny bug in the code, whenever you don't click onto a piece (ie, you clicked...

Day X: Project Universal Secret. Cleaning up the horrid mess

Posted by Night Lone, 10 October 2013 · 404 views
code, programming and 4 more...
Well, I was suggested to make one of theses, and since I'm updating twitter and FB, might as well update this as well...Starting at 10am today I started to clean up my project; separating the camera, event handler, and main game code into separate classes. Then I proceeded to get rid of a header file which held all my header files and actually only includ...
