ITT: Current state of the game (Post 1)

Hello game dev.net,

For my first post I will be discussing the current state of the game as to what we have completed so far and what we are currently working on. To any one who is not familiar with our current project, or who want to learn more, I will add a basic description of the game at the end of this post.

Currently, we have the player registration and log in screen up and working for in house testing. Upon opening the game, the player is able to register an account. An activation code to validate your account will be sent to you via email. After you verify your account you are able to log in to the main client. After logging in, you go to the main client where we are able to chat to each other in the main chat room. We are working on getting a working friends list and private messaging next.

As far as game play, we have the Hunter character and the Deer animal fully modeled, textured, and animated. We also have all of the items the deer drops (Hide, meat, and bones) fully implemented. We are currently working on path finding and combat scrips for the hunter to be able to kill the deer. After the deer dies, it will drop its items and the character will be able to collect the items and the items will go into his inventory.

Basic description:

There will be 1 to 4 teams of 1 to 4 players, depending on the map and play style. When the game starts, each player will need to choose one of the 18 different characters to control for the rest of the game. Every single character has “pros” and “cons”. Whether one has more health or the other one has less, each of them will have special abilities bound to their class. The players will have to pick a good team composition to best the enemy team.

Players must eliminate the enemy team while also focusing on their own survival by gathering materials. Your character must eat, sleep and stay warm. In order to do so, all the players within the team must build a camp, build items and hunt to be able to eventually knock out the other tribes. There are 6 different classes with 2 subclasses each. Will you pick the Warrior, a strong combatant that lacks inventory slots or will you play the Hunter, an agile character that can track and capture animals to make them his allies?

Art style is nice. What engine are you developing in?

We are using Unity3D I also forgot to mention that that camera will be top down similar to LoL and DOTA. Pretty standard for an RTS style game.

Very pleasing on the eye :)

This is looking good i hope you guys can pull it off.
