Awesome job so far everyone! Please give us your feedback on how our article efforts are going. We still need more finished articles for our May contest theme: Remake the Classics

Something stupid

Posted by JTippetts, 15 March 2013 · 446 views

Ugh. I did something kind of stupid the other day.

I've picked up a nasty stomach bug that's been going around. Pretty bad. 104 degree fever, stuff running out of me at both ends, the works. Some wicked fever dreams (at one point my wife startled me awake and I screamed about white spiders scratching my brain; it seems appropriate). As sick as I've ever been. Getting better now, but the mistake I made was that when I stayed home sick from work, still puking my guts out and feverish, I attempted to work on Goblinson Crusoe. Subsequently, I dreamed about working on GC, on the UI in particular, fever dreams that spun around and around in my brain like some sort of sickly rotten stew.

Now, although I'm starting to get over the illness, just the mere thought of working on GC again makes me feel nauseous and depressed and very, very tired. I really hope it doesn't last. At any rate, until this stuff is fully flushed out of my system, I'm just going to stay away from GC.

Sorry to hear this... Get well soon! and back to GC!!!! Love the new direction it's going in.

Ugh, I was puking recently as well (few weeks back). Worse. Feeling. Ever. I feel for ya - get well soon!

Feel better bud and I know the feeling. I have that problem particularly with food; if I eat something and throw up at some point after (like within 4 hours) I get nauseous every time I even smell that food for a very very long time afterwards.

Currently cannot even smell peanut butter because of this....damn migraine making me throw up toast about 4 months ago.

hope you feel better soon. i enjoy the journal alot.

By the grace of God, I seem to have survived. Against all expectation to the contrary. Further, the fever-induced distaste for GC has abated, and I find myself itching to jump back into it this week. I sort of lost the threads of what I was doing, though, so it might take me a bit to get back in the swing. Thanks for the well-wishes, guys.
