2006 has been a good year for me. I have had success in my personal life as well as my professional life, and to be honest I can't complain at all about how this past year has finished out. With that said, its time to start making plans for the coming year.
What is next???
I want 2007 to be the year that I break into the games industry as an independant developer. For several years I have been learning and working on building up my engine. I finally feel that I am ready to make the next step in my journey towards independance.
I have a few game ideas that are certainly worth developing further with one in particular that I have already begun development on. As I posted a few days ago, I am quite excited about the game and I have the confidence to know that I can finish the game with a commercial level quality. So what better time is there to make your dreams come true?
So 2007 is now slated for my first steps as an independant developer: to develop a commercial game and find some means of either getting a publisher or releasing it on the net as a self published title. It doesn't much matter to me how it gets done, it is more a matter of getting it done.
With this in mind, I am setting my one and only new years resolution:
1. To earn at least $1 in game related sales
It doesn't sound like much, but of course I am hoping for much more than that - this is the motivation. I will be updating my progress here in the journal, so you will be able to see the game grow along with my company. Only time will tell if I will be able to keep my resolution, and I can't wait to see the outcome!
Happy New Year to Everyone!
