Actually I'm really disappointed with it. In the "Beginning C++ Game Programming" book every time you learn something new the author would write a program in the book to demonstrate it. I'd learn lots from writing all the programs out.
In the C# version you learn a load of new concepts without ever getting to see them in use with a full program. So yeah great I can learn to write classes and structures etc but where do I put them in the program etc? I do actually know that one but you get the point.
I'm not going to go back on what I said and start the C++ book but I don't think this book is a good one for me. Mind you I think a book that is 300 pages and teaches you the basics of C# and including a full game using DirectX is a bit ambitious.
