From the ashes

Well that was very short lived, years have passed and I haven't even looked at this. I have made leaps and bounds career wise (nothing related to programming) and although I don't have more time (less now I have a gf) I was talking to my gf and she suggested I give this another ago as it seemed to be one of the few things that engaged me.
Sadly I no longer have any of my books but I'm considering getting another once I've done some research. My goal is still the same, to make a Harvest Moon type game using the same 16bit type graphics from SNES era.
I need to see what books are about and go from there, think I'll stick with C# even though I didn't get very far. I don't remember much but I had a go on code academy and found a lot to be too basic so I must remember some things.
I fully intend to use the journal to keep myself motivated and record my lack of achievements and progress. I'd be very interested to see if some of the people who helped me before are still active, I shall do some tracking down shortly but I doubt they remember me.

I never read your journal before, having gone through some off-and-on periods myself. But welcome back! I hope you find the motivation and drive to succeed. I'm working on an XNA game at the moment that I plan to port to Monogame if (hopefully) that project matures. Feel free to send me questions and I'll help if I can.
Thank you. I'm not jumping ahead this time as this is what went wrong last time. I have a book on XNA but won't even look at it until I believe my C# skills are better than before. Just need to go into the attic and pray I have the book still.
Welcome back!
