Movement in-depth

Posted by etodd, 27 March 2014 · 722 views

Update from the Kickstarter: I know it's only been 24 hours since the last update, but Lemma is now over 61% of the way to the top 100 games on Greenlight with well over 4,500 yes votes. Thank you all for being a part of this project!
I realized that the 30 seconds of gameplay from the Kickstarter trailer is not enough to really see what's going on, so here's a more in-depth video explanation of the movement in Lemma. Skip to 2:15 to see an explanation of the magical wall-creating, environment-modifying bits.

Thanks again for making this all possible. Let's keep it going!

You should have a video of a continuous run involving multiple wall-jumps, wall-runs, and block creation and destruction, as the continuous chaining of moves is where Lemma really shines. Such a video would really help 'sell' the concept of the game.

Demonstrating each move in isolation is helpful for understanding how to play the game, but demonstrating a real chained-combo continuous run is helpful in understanding how to *enjoy* the game, and why the game is worth playing.

I forgot your main Kickstarter video already does that (and does it well).

Looks awesome, kind of got a better understanding of the concept after watching that.
