A hot subject of discussion at this year's GDC was Intel's new Larrabee processor architecture, which promises to deliver a powerful, scalable, and flexible new paradigm for heavy-duty processing. To show off some of the new goodies crammed into the Larrabee design, Michael Abrash delivered a talk discussing his creation of a software rasterizer that targets the new processor.
Unfortunately, this talk was presented at 9 AM on the last day of the conference; at this point half of the audience was in fact dead and managed to stagger their way into the room only because they had an ample supply of fresh brains to feast upon from their fellow GDC-goers.
I am therefore slightly ashamed to admit that I slept through the entire talk, and the only notes I took were the location of the slides for the presentation. So I will leave you to explore the slides; I hope they provide enough explanation to whet your appetite, although I'm sure they won't do justice to Abrash's presentation of the material.
