Great Games Experiment

I'm not really dead, but I might as well be for all the progress I've been making over the last few weeks. I started my last semester, and although it's not terribly hard, I'm not feeling the motivation. Hopefully that will return soon, since all I've done recently is make the test map for Afterglow longer to test NPC deactivation.

It's not really nice of me to say so, but I'm glad that I am at least not alone in the recent slump in development. Goodness it's been hard to just hunker down and get anything done.

I understand what you're saying. Final year of University definitely seems to bring with it a feeling of being burnt out and seriously lacking motivation, and I'm right there just now as well.

Dude! I hear ya.

Work business and new baby have been keeping my time limited lately (not that I'm complaining about the latter). Its hard to get motivated when you only have a tiny number of free hours in a day.

Congratulations on your baby. That's a much more promising project than a videogame, although I guess the kid isn't doing much of anything yet.

The worst game development decision I ever made was to go to college...

Yeah, she's not up to too much yet, but spending time with her is very addictive! In that way, I guess the two are similar.

Anyway, once we start seeing the "holy grail" of parenting (when she sleeps 7pm - 7am, should hopefully happen within the next few months) then I'm hoping my time will be a bit less constrained.
