(This is a repost of my post on the forums, here)

I need some guidance here. I'm in a bit of a predicament here with my (former) domain, packetfrag.com. It expired and is now parked by name.net.

I registered the domain when I worked with a company called delrio.com, through delrio.com's registrar (bulkregister.com), so delrio.com was listed as the contact information. When the domain was abotu to expire, bulkregister sent a warning, but delrio.com got it, not me, since they were listed as contact information, and they didn't know who's domain it was so they let it expire. It was in a state in which it could be reregistered through bulkregister.com but I can't use them since they're for registering in bulk, mainly companies use them as a registrar.

Well, I jumped through hurdles trying to get it transferred over to me but it never got transferred. Delrio.com said they would but they never got the requests. It ended up going into a redemption perdiod in which it would have cost the OWNER of delrio.com $150 to get it out, not going to happen, as I can't even get my W2's from the guy.

About a day and a half ago it was finally released and name.net got it immediately, and now they won't release it for less than $90 USD. I did everything I possibly could but was unable to get my domain back.

Does anyone have any advice (besides get a new domain name... I liked packetfrag.com)? I was thinking of emailing them and explaining that it was beyond my control and telling them I will pay a reasonable amount (no more than $20USD) or I will seek legal advice. It's my understanding that they aren't doing anything illegal, but still, sometimes scaring is a good way of getting things done.

The fucking stupid part is name.net REGISTERS domains for $7.95 and they won't sell mine for less than $90 ... shitheads. This is extortion as it's finest :(

Is this domain squatting? Is it illegal?

I want my domain back :(

Work in progress, obviously. Schmedly did the model, I'm texturing it. It might be used in my next game.

I'm bored out of my mind. Nothing going on in World of Warcraft at the moment that jumped out and grabbed me, so i'm just sitting here bored off my ass.

I'd tell you all about my project, but that would just make you all expect me to actually work on it.

I could get to work on my new project, but i can't find the motivation to do so. This happens to me way too much. Maybe it's a sign.

I'll watch MacGuyver.

Well. This week Damian was here. It hasn't been a good week.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it's great that Damian is here, but things just didn't seem to go right. It all started on Tuesday when my truck ran out of gas on my way home. That's my own stupid fault, I know, but that didn't upset me. What upset me was when I put some gas in it and it still wouldn't start. The engine would turn, it just wouldn't keep going. Eventually it just stopped doing that. All the cranking wore out the battery. Trying to jump start the truck did nothing. So later that night me and my dad ended up having to tow the truck home.

That pissed me off.

Wednesday came around. Time to troubleshoot the truck. After hours and hours on a battery charger, the damn truck wouldn't do anything. Turning the key used to result in a click at least. Now, nothing. wtf. We determine that maybe the starter had gone bad. Or not, maybe the solenoid. So we bypass the solenoid and the same thing happens. We determine that the start needs to come out and get looked at.

That pissed me off. That's not a cheap fix either.

This morning comes around, 9:30am I have to wake up and crawl under the truck first thing. I remove the starter (heavy son of a bitch, that is). We open up the starter and we see the problem. On the inside of the starter are four little ... trapezoidal looking metal pieces, which are contacts for some metal thingy in there. Two had broken off. Thankfully those contacts can be replaced rather cheaply and easily. And just to make sure, we bought a new solenoid. All in all, $15 was spent. We rebuilt the starter, put it back in the truck, and it starts better than it ever has.

Truck fixed, but three days of Damian's visit was spent at home in front of the TV since we had no vehicle to take us anywhere while both parents were working.

So today it's fixed, but it's also his last day here. Tomorrow AM I'm driving him back to New Mexico. That makes me sad. Really really sad. :( blah :(
