  Doors and giant ants. | 
Posted - 8/4/2009 11:44:48 PM | Good evening Journal Land. A short but sweet entry tonight, mentioning a few recent developments on Cyberspawn. Most notable is the (final!) implementation of sliding doors, which are currently functioning on a 'mostly working' basis. I say mostly working because all doors can only slide open -- an obvious limitation -- and there is no interference detection, meaning the door will close fully even if there are other props (or the player!) in its path, leading to some weird behavior. Still, it's a start.
The other development is the beginnings of a model for a autonomous bot which will make appearances throughout the game, currently titled the, "Nant Bot". Whatever that means. This is only the first pass on it, so there is only a model to show thus far; textures and animations will come somewhere down the line. This is the general appearance I'd like, although I'm not sure if the in-game shot represents the scale I'd like for the bot; perhaps a little smaller and it'd look less intimidating.
