Posted - 10/11/2007 3:24:02 AM | As the university is taking my time from game programming, I might as well fill my gamedev journal with the courses I'm taking, especially since I even have a few courses somewhat relevant to this journal. :)
I have a couple of courses on information visualization (IV): an introduction course and a project course. The topic is quite interesting and ties in nicely with my interest in user interface design. The project hasn't started yet, but the idea is to develop an interactive visualization (or a prototype of a visualization) for some topic with associated set of data.
Another interesting course is about hypermedia, again an introductory course to the topic. The name sounds a bit silly at least to me, but it's basically about web design, interactive multimedia, social media... and games. The department has some game research (eg. a study about game culture in Finland, USA and South Korea) as well, and I'm thinking of taking it as my secondary subject if the other courses are as interesting as this first one.

Posted - 10/2/2007 11:39:50 AM | *sigh* I'd really like to take part in the 4E6 contest, and continue game programming in general, but I simply don't have the time at the moment, and I might not until Xmas... I don't even have time to go to capoeira as much as I'd like to. The positive side is, if I continue studying at this pace, I might actually get my Master's degree some day!
