Creating a Quake-like Console Using DirectDraw
Post Reply
The Charge. ( to all ones have read An Article )

Many-many apologies for the stamps and mistakes
in my English, it's still so bad...

Notwithstanding, I have some dark thoughts about "Pranay Uppuluri" -
- NOT a " programmer of experience " .
I'm the same one too, but I guess none of my articles will be posted on gamedev.net.
After reading this Work ( and it's important, what happens "after reading"! )
I imagine diehard GAMER ((my frend, Misha, for example)) who's trying to write a game,
not original, but very similar to his *loved* game because of his defective imagination.
One of my teachers in my damn school aspirate in such situation: "itsapity itsapity"
I think such people must NOT be allowed to write articles about programming;
is ignorance of programming essentials not enough reason???
And it's stupid "to ask for help" in such simple problem, especially from
dubious "programmers" call themselves "Gaz and Ripper"..........

Thus, "target group" for such articles is tones of stupid gamers.
- I can't understand this conception.

P.S.
Have a good (may be nuclear? ) laugh:

"
The console demo I am providing you with is fully customizable 'as-is'. All you probably need to do is just change a
few constants. If you do is it, you don't have to give me any credits, royalties, or anything.
"

But shIt! I'm just about
to give to "Pranay Uppuluri" royalties ( ~ 1000000$ ) and huge piece of something of anything!
OK, Pranay Uppuluri, I understood................

Unfortunately, this article was posted in the early days of GDNet, before we starting requiring that all files associated with article be hosted on our server. I noticed that the links in this one were broken a long time ago, but I haven't been able to find a copy of the demo anywhere.

So anyone had the console code?

I really need it as a reference somehow?

Is there other article out there that teach me how to create a console?

I search google for game consoles or in-game consoles, but it shows me about Xbox, PS2, etc!

Any help?

Thanks.

Regards,
Chua Wen Ching
