Interesting read. I'm curious as to what people think about the solutions coming out for mobile devices, e.g. BREW, etc?

Just curious but what are some of the solutions? Why would I want to play on my phone, when I could use a GBA or GBC? What are some web resources on learning about WAP (RFC?), WML, J2ME? Do cellphones have native support for technologies like SVG, SMIL or would I need to make a Java applet of application to use those? What Java Libraries are available on the average cellphone? (I am betting the J2ME edition specs say this somewhere, I will check later) Is there an easy way to upgrade those? How much CPU power does the average cell phone have available to it? Will there be a future article containing some of this information? This article seems to be selling it, nothing wrong with that, but what keywords would I put into Google to get real information? Edit: Clicked the Cash-u site for information, and all I can say that site is evil. (/me dons flame retardent suit, cause he cannot say anything on this site without somebody thinking he is insulting some party) [edited by - DakeDesu on May 11, 2002 6:12:52 PM]

hehe, in a business of mobile entertainment there is coming a big boom of retro games do those machines and many are now waiting for j2me phones to get more popular than now. --cut-- Do cellphones have native support for technologies like SVG, SMIL or would I need to make a Java applet of application to use those? --\cut-- you need to make midp if you want those to work in cellphones which support java, usually everyone phone supports midp1.0, but midp2.0 is coming ?! next year? --cut-- Why would I want to play on my phone, when I could use a GBA or GBC? What are some web resources on learning about WAP (RFC?), WML, J2ME? --\cut-- Yeah, i've been thinking same, I was doing in major company this kind of stuff and I didn't play these at all, I just programmed. For wap (wml), j2me there are really good resources all around net. But I'm still using GBA *note*, how to make mobile entertainment business that is succesful is a different thing, but I hope there could be samekind of solutions like in japan for mobile phones, which support even connections to some games and you can have nice chat with your friends inside those games through mobphones. eh. I hope I didn't jump off from the subject too much Cheers, Hamuf
