As someone who's never really used Photoshop... This article alone opened my eyes a bit. The very first thing I did was open up Paint.Net, make a lasso selection, then I check if I could stroke it... No, Paint.net doesn't do this.

Geez. I really need to give PS a try now. Great article!

GIMP can stroke selections.
