I would like to add "check the code in your portfolio" as well. Use a single style and keep to it (within projects) and have a friend/forum-member look over your code so that it doesn't contain any obvious mistakes.

cool article,

I'm just in my final year of university and got my portfolio site up and running over summer and this article would have come in handy when I was doing so. Its still a bit rough around the edges I only had a few weeks to get all my work together and make the site, so I plan on working on it a bit more and this article will certainly help.

If anyone would care to take a look at my site and give me some feedback as to how I can improve it that would be much appreciated.

Very informative article. It inspires me to do better when I get lazy... laziness is a sign of weakness IMO :(
