Hello Mr.Jonathan Nix,

Your article "Working With AVI Files" was very good! I haven't had experience with DirectX till this moment and I'm very charm from ease of working with it. But I have a two questions.

The first is about music in AVI file. I saw how can I get the necessary information and try to do it with one of my movies.
You told that "You can tell what structure it is by comparing the lSize variable with the sizeof(WAVEFORMATEX) or sizeof(PCMWAVEFORMAT).". But I didn't see lSize member in WAVEFORMAT structure. /sizeof(WAVEFORMATEX)=18,sizeof(PCMWAVEFORMAT)=16/. How can I determine format?! And how can I play audio?

The second is about avi frame. How can I show da movie in normal window (as windows media player)?! This clowner works in 640x480 resolution (like DOS program).

Thanks for the great work. However, I am not sure how to
compile the sample file. I was told "pr.h" not found.
I am new to VC++ hope someone can give me a hand.

If there is any README file that would be really helpful.

But for file larger than 1GB ( Avi dv file ) how i can do ???
The API of microsoft generate an error AVIERR_FILEREAD A disk error occurred while reading the file.

Can you help me ???

HOW TO PLAY AVI SOUND?
THE CANN'T PLAY DIVX AVI.

Hi, i dev an avi parser but i have some problems to read movi chunck (xxdc, xxdb, xxwb) because there are many blank bytes:
es: DWord (4 fourcc bytes) + DWord (4 size bytes) + (chunck)
but i founded some chunck that the real size was different from (4 size bytes).

How can i parse movi chunck correctly ?
