Where do Delphi Programmers hang out?
Simple question, where are the active Delphi sites? I''ve tried Delphi32.com, delphi.about.com, and even Borland, but there doesn''t seem to be much activity.
Anyone know of any good, active Delphi sites?
Yeah, it can be a bit quiet around here. I tend to hang around here, newsgroups (comp.lang.pascal.delphi.misc, some alt.*.delphi and the public borland ones), the Delphi Sanctuary, plus a few other ones. The public borland newsgroups are probably the most interesting (esp. the borland.public.delphi.oodesign and borland.public.delphi.language.objectpascal ones). If you do subscribe to those, make sure you use the newsgroups.borland.com server instead of your usual server or your posts probably won''t show up.
I think that Experts Exchange looks quite interesting, though I''ve only had a cursory glance at it.
I used to hang around Softbeat - but recently it''s vanished. I live in hope that it will be reborn sometime soon, though...

I'm a member of delphi3000.com, but they recently started charging to view more than a certain amount of content, so I rarely go there any more.

*GuiltyLook* yea... *grinZ* - I usually just go online if I have a real issue or something, so I tend to not be around most of the time.
But on the other hand... apart from dropping by turbo, I regularly go passed GameDev and flipcode. Language dependencies (looking for Delphi-specific places) are too much of a burden... it is easier to go to places programmers in general go, and if you have a problem with >their< help, you can take it to a Delphi-site (like here).

Of course, us Delphi programmers actually spend our time programming, unlike these C++ programmers who have to keep coming here for help.
Hi
Having read this thread I decided to do something about it. I've set up some new forums dedicated to Delphi Games Programming. OK I admit it has NO content at the moment but if you want to contribute please go to DGDev and sign up. Don't know if it will be useful/popular but hey it's worth a try
At the very least you can go there to talk about the lack of Delphi sites!
[EDIT] Hey thanks for joining, Alimonster![/EDIT]

No problem .
Important note for you Delphi peepz: the email I got with to activate the account had the wrong address! You have to change the part in the URL that says "phpBB2" to "dgdev".
Aside from that, get your butts over there people!

I'll second that, if everyone supports this site like Alimonster seems to be it'll be a pretty good community before long
If you have any ideas about how to run this thing let me know, I'm kind of on my own
[EDIT]We now have 12 registered members! So if you have any questions that need answering, give us a try[/EDIT]

I thought that I''d bump this up in case Viro''s not seen it yet. The new board started by BlueCat now has over 300 posts and 37 members - in about 3 days of existence(!).
I''d like to thank everyone at the board and strongly urge anyone with a passing interest in Delphi to join up. Thanks everyone!
