I never really understood the beuty of Chrono Triggers music. I've allways liked SoM better in every way.

Crap, now I have to change my signature again. oh well.

So much for obscurity.

In my playlist:
* The menu music from Trackmania
* Intro music from Deus Ex

I also have had the Myst 3 CD on loop a few times.

Warcraft 2! Even though I don't play War2 anymore I still listen to the music. What was really great about this is that if you got the original DOS version, the CD has the music on the CD tracks and you can play it like a regular music CD.

I also like Monkey Island music and various Final Fantasy themes. Aeris's death scene was very well done with the music and all.

Yeah, the Warcraft 3 trailer music was awesome, but the one Blizzard released was too short, I thought. Monkey Island's music was amazing. I never really played through any of the Final Fantasy's, lack of time. I did played through about half of FF8 and it was pretty good.

Anyone know any good places to get video game music? MIDI or MP3?

http://www.vgmusic.com is a great site for video game midis.

In my opinion, Halo has just about the most impressive soundtracks I've ever heard in a game.

Outlaws by LucasArts

I actually mentioned this in a recent post, but Ill say it again because this time its actually on topic

This game has the best soundtrack ive heard in a game by far. Ever. Its worth buying the game (its pretty cheap these days, abut 8 bucks) JUST for the music. That is no exaggeration. As a bonus, the music is encoded in .wav so you can pop the cds directly in your cd player in your car for example (Im pretty sure this is true; check into it first if you intend on doing this).

The game itself is superb but I wont get into that because this is about the tunes.

Monkey Island 3 intro (IMO, greatest game in the whole series)
Journey to Silius (old NES game, best midi I have)
Heavy Gear (sort of like some of the mechwarrior music)
Baldur's Gate: TOB (the one where you fight the other Bhaals spawn. Really great battle music)

2.) Final Fantasy 8

A year ago, I could have recited the lyrics to "Eyes on You" from memory. Needless to say, I concur.

I am also quite fond of the musics from the Phantasy Star series. 2, in particular.

It's funny you say that, I actually printed out the lyrics to that song. Beautiful song, and always reminds me of that time in my life when I played it. Great game to.

I'll try to get it.

[EDIT]
Are you sure it's Eyes on You and not Eyes on Me?

5)Homeworld Intro

That's the song from Platoon when they take off in the helicopters and the vietnamis just slaughter one of the Americans.

Pretty sure, but I can't be 100%. I lost my OST CDs a while back, and the computer with my MP3s is out for the count. Both titles make sense, considering the lyrics.
