The biggest problems with MMO game development are pretty much the following:
- Time
- Money

See, he's wrong. The biggest two problems with MMO game developement are talent and experience. If you have both you can make an MMO. All the time and money in the world will deliver you goose egg if you don't have talent and experience.

>> Basically they are too large projects for individuals or small teams to handle. <<

I do agree with him. He is pertaining to individuals or smaller teams. I myself wants to develop several games but I do need a full time job to survive (money) and having a family makes it hard for me to get the (time) I want.

To the poster above. Please read it first!

I don't think he intends that what he posts is etched in stone. He even stated in one of his posts he was willing to change is position on a subject. Game development, software development is an much art as it is science. I don't see it as right and wrong so much as perspective.

Thanks for the comments guys. I keep the blog updated. Feel free to participate there often. Criticism and comments are most welcome - that's (one way) how the improvements can be made.

And of course my posts is etched in stone and you should read them without any criticism ;)

@To the "Anonymous poster":

Logically both of the following statements are False:

"The biggest two problems with MMO game developement are talent and experience. If you have both you can make an MMO. All the time and money in the world will deliver you goose egg if you don't have talent and experience."
> This post faintly states that even if you don't have time and money you can make a MMOG. I don't believe in this. Of course you need time to do the job, and money to get something to eat.

> This states faintly that even if you don't have talent and experience you can make a MMOG. I don't believe in this neither. I never said this to be true. (Although, if you have enough money - you could buy talent...)

I believe it takes time, money, talent (and experience) to make a MMOG. In my point-of-view: the indies most likely have talent (and experience), but don't have much time nor money. That's where I took my opinion - and I'm willing to modify it if I see reasons for it.
