| What follows is a little script for a concept called "1337 Family", which is just that. In a future not so far away, when the English language has had certain exaggerated mutations, this is everyday life for a family of four (Mom, Dad, Sis, and Bill) as told in the format of IRC. My apologies... Quote: It needs a lot of work. I just sat down with an idea and started writing, so it's crap right now. Thoughts? Criticism? Additions, maybe? (Consider it public domain.) Thank you for your time, Benji |

| Where are chapters one through ten? And how come Bill didn't get any lines? He could have at least jumped in with a "r0x0r5 ur b0x0r5" at the end. I enjoyed it nonetheless, even though it's scary to think that this might actually happen some day. |

Quote:The Chapter Eleven thing is an obscure reference to Spaceballs, which in turn used that as a mockery of Star Wars. The story basically starts somewhere toward the end. As for Bill... Quote: |

| I really liked the depths of the characters and the subtle exploration of the human condition. I found I could very much relate to "Sis"'s feelings of angst and oppression.. and I'm not ashamed to admit that I teared up a bit when I found out that Bill was drafted. Also, the underlying theme of the triumph of the human spirit over the forces of apathy and ignorance was very profound and uplifting. I believe this "1337 Family" (aside: why are there one thousand three hundred thirty seven of them?) has given me a valuable new perspective on life. I think the language was perhaps a bit too high-brow, though. Maybe you could make it a bit more casual? |

Quote: it's also a chapter of the United States Bankruptcy Code that specifically covers reorganization for people in a certain range of debt. This was particularly relevant during the time of Spaceballs, as a number of corporations were filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, seemingly almost as a business strategy. Quote: Quote:Ah yes, the subtle writing and tragic character developments are indeed saddening. I myself have shed a tear just writing it. Rest assured of that. But what I'm really aiming for with this project is to shed light on the terrible irony of civilian life in a self-destructive world. Two parents come together and raise their children with the near certainty that all is not well. "Sis" is a perfect example of the average young female's hormonal imbalance and otherwise dumbfuckery that we see today. The parents are two people from horrible depths of human existence (one from the world of free-software kernel hacking and the other from male-whoring) who have both decided to resolve their lives to the terror known simply as "parenthood". And Bill? Bill will one day take over the world, a prime example of an explosive ego under supression from outside forces. So yeah. :P |

| Not believable enough. Chapter eleven should have degraded into a flamewar and in the end, according to Godwin's Law, Sis should have called Dad a Nazi. =b |

| urm, no. Sorry. Allow me to explain: 1337 is a barbaric language, mainly designed for exclamations, e.g. PWNED! NOOB! ""Man shot in head. BOOM HEADSHOT!!!111oneone pwnt1!! haw n00b!!hahahaha" etc. I cant see anybody really using it in everyday speech. Besides, when you pronounce those words they sound similar to standard english. 1337 is a WRITTEN ONLY language, although it incorporates certain elements of slang which can be used in real life conversation. Try that instead: incorporate what is currently considered colloquial into normal speech, e.g. LOL or PWNED pronounced as they are written. Unless of course its a joke and I'm taking it too seriously. That happens sometimes. [Edited by - speciesUnknown on August 10, 2007 8:45:06 PM] Don't thank me, thank the moon's gravitation pull!
