Team name:
Tangrin(not registered...yet)

Project name:
Nom Nom Adventures

Brief description:
Simple, cute 2D platform flash game, about a Hamster who collects nuts. This is just a small side-project that I started last week. I need a short break from a bigger game project. So I am developing a small flash game that I can finish within 2-3 weeks (part-time, I have a full-time job). I am building this game for a couple of reasons:

- I thought it would be a nice chance to find a talented musician, hopefully someone I can work with on future projects.
- I need a short break from my current game project.
- I want to check out the possibilities on flash distribution, sponsoring, and marketing.

Target aim:
Free game, I will post it on flashgamelicense to check if any sponsors are interested, and add some advertising.

Compensation:
Percentage of potential revenue. Percentage depends on the amount of time you want to invest.

Technology:
PC, Web-based flash game.

Talent needed:
Composer & Sound FX. I need someone who is:
- Talented
- Reliable
- Mature
- Good communicator, simply said, someone I can discuss the who does what when with in a short amount of time.
- Has sample work

I am hoping to find someone who I can work with on future, commercial projects aimed for Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. For this project, I want to work with someone who can make some upbeat music and sound FX, similar to games like Loco Roco, Mario, Sonic, Beautiful Katamari. The material must be original, and free to use in the game. I don't want any copyright issues.

I would like to finish this project within the next couple of weeks. It would be nice if the sound and music could be completed in the same time frame.

Team structure:
Me! I will create everything but the sound and music.

Just PM me through the GameDev forum. Give me a link to your portfolio work, and some background info on where you are from, age, interests, etc.

Previous Work by Team:

Additional Info:
This is just a small, fun side-project for me. It is not innovative, it is not complex, but it will be fun, and it will be completed.

Why would you join?
You will have a small, fun, finished game with your music in it. It should be interesting for any composer who is looking for a short break.

What is done?
You can get a demo .swf file on request. The game is in a pretty playable state.

Done
- menus
- scrolling tile system, including scrolling backgrounds
- collision against enemies and environment
- forest level tilesheet
- import maps from tile editor
- in-game time and gui
- score gui
- ability to pick up nuts
- snail enemy (just moves from left to right, you need to jump on its head)
- bird enemy (poops on your head, avoid poop, jump on head)

Must Haves
- die when time is up
- flamer enemy (has a flame on his head that goes on and off, so you need to time your jumps)
- dynamic spawning (enemies spawning dynamically when you get further in the level)
- level completion area and animation
- sprite animation for main character
- multiple levels, and level sprite sheets
- level loading by entering level code
- about 20 levels
(I am probably missing some things, but I am making this up as I go)

Nice to Haves
- World map with cookie storage for game recovery
- Cut scenes
- Highscores

Feedback:
ANY

Looks like a really fun project! Best of luck finding someone. One bit of advice: Consider changing the thread title from Composer to something like Composer-Sound Designer. Not every composer also does SFX or vice versa.

Thanks,

Nathan

Your game looks like it might be entertaining, but how much revenue do you expect from a side project?

@Nathan: Thanks! I have changed the title.

@Dathgale: Yeah, it is based on the internet phrase "Nom Nom Nom", I hope the title will make people curious. How much revenue I expect? I have no expectations. One of the reasons I am building it, is to see how much money is involved in flash games these days.

@All: I am happy to report I have already received PM's that show a lot of potential. I will wait until friday to give everybody a chance to contact me. I will answer every PM this saturday.

Hi DogmaDZ

I'm an experienced sound designer/composer, who is looking to go pro. I think I could create music that would fit this game well and I've been working with sfx for years. I'll send you a pm.

Hi there,

I run a music and sound effects house here in Portland, Oregon. We've produced music and sound for Academy award winning shorts, Grammy award winning albums, national ad campaigns, children's programming, video games, special events, and much more. You can check out a lot of our work here:

We're currently busy scoring a few iPhone games, but you may find some material in our licensing library that would work for you. Let me know if you have any questions, or would like more information. Thanks!
