This Friday's GDNet Daily will be handled by moi, as Trent is reportedly somewhere on the interstate highway system, deploying giant inflatable sheep from his passenger side window in order to distract the closely pursuing law enforcement. As always, the GDNet Daily does not endorse any illegal activity, so please stop going on inane rampages in weather balloons, motor vehicles or on the backs of drunk camels.
It seems odd to announce downloadable content before your game has even shipped, but Borderlands is coming out with a new package of rare loot and undead bashin' in The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. Best name this year? Well, yeah.
Why can't you get co-op gameplay in Modern Warfare 2? It's probably because your buddy would keep trying to make farting sounds over the microphone while a character your character is supposed to feel good about dies from toxic nerve gas, or Atari overdose, or something. Not going to name names for who is the kind of person who would ruin a plot that way. You know who you are.
Lego Rock Band, the least likely combination of words which I thought could make up a videogame's title, is still proceeding in development. Blur has been announced as one of the bands immortalized as polygonal representations of plastic men, joining David Bowie and a surprisingly innocent-looking Iggy Pop.
Did you know there's a division of EA making Flash-based browser games? Here's their version of Dragon Age. Sega AM2 is apparently working on a new HD remake of Daytona USA, again angering those who have waited practically their entire lives for an authentic home port to reach North America.
Hey, someone actually owned up to delaying Alpha Protocol. That's great, because I had like three different dates for it in my release schedule. Now it's "Spring 2010." Precise! I'll just block off those four months with "will release sometime in this period of time."
Finally, the World of Goo "pay whatever you think it's worth" sale is still ongoing until October 19th. You should pick it up, and as previously mentioned, we'll hopefully see some sales statistics on how many of you are abusive cheapskates shortly after the end of the promotion. Happy birthday to World of Goo!
I must be the only one who actively dislikes World of Goo. No disrespect or anything (I'm not saying the game sucks), I know it's a high quality indie title that's highly popular, but I just didn't like the game as a player. The demo was somewhat fun at first, but later on it just made me really frustrated. I have to admit, I started playing it with a slightly negative pretense.
On the other hand, I really like and support this idea of "buy it for what you think it's worth." I'd be really curious to see the results.

It seemed like a good game, my gf downloaded the demo and couldn't get past the 3rd level, which is generally odd for her and a puzzle game.

That is interesting - there were only two levels I had particular troubles with (first long bridge, and the first 'green phosphor' level), and I beat the game in well under 4 days.
