First level. Large battleship taking brunt of tower fire.

Second level. Incoming asteroids at the top of the screen with multiple explosions in the center.

Second level. 5 lasers concentrating fire on 2 space ships.

Third level. More incoming units.

Hey GameDev,

Transoid is our recent attempt at developing for the iPhone. It is a classic Tower Defense game where the design twist is that units must be visible in order for your towers to shoot at them. The game uses a physics engine that allows your units to be 'bumped' by incoming enemy units. You can also reposition any of your towers at will.

As for the technical side of things, the lighting system took the most time to develop. We use basic multitexturing and some texture matrix calculations to get the lighting effects you see in all of the screenshots.

Please visit our website for an in-game video and additional screenshots.

Thanks for all of your help over the years GameDev.

I have problems to recognize, what is showed on the screenshots.
The meaning of the HUD-elements is clear, but I have no clue what everything else is.
In a video it would be probably easier to understand.

I agree. I've gotten very similar comments along those lines. Without having played the game, the screen shots are very hard to make out. I was also contemplating releasing the game for free on windows, since it is cross platform and I figure it might garner some interest .

I edited the original post to include a link to a youtube video of the game in-action as you suggested. Personally, I think it's easier to see what's going on in the video. But then again, I've played it quite a few times.
