I'd go with Python so you learn a bit more about programming and game logic with Pygame.
Then move to something you like more.

I can't believe no one has talked about Vim or Emacs, the two most powerful text editors in the world, you get the power of IDEs (Intellisense too) without the clutter of IDEs.
