Yeah I've also been a bit confused as to why they're going with that BRDF. GGX is really nice, and I find it works well for a lot of materials.

Yeah I've also been a bit confused as to why they're going with that BRDF. GGX is really nice, and I find it works well for a lot of materials. In particular I find you can often use it to cheaply approximate materials that have two specular lobes.
