I think this means you can switch geometry between emitter point-of-view and detector point-of-view and get the same answer


So either use

- solid angle subtended by emitter and projected area of detector


- solid angle subtended by detector and projected area of emitter


I don't think it means you can MOVE the detector and get the same answer ...


in my diagram above the blue solid angle is subtended by the detector and the projected area belongs to the emitter


if you switched point-of-view the projected area would be the same, but instead the solid angle would change by a factor of 0.707 giving the same result
