Currently work on the game looks less than encouraging.

I have yet to produce a proof of concept with a working economy. When I have a working economy I can see if it's fun. Right now all you can do is build and it's no challenge because you have a huge global resource cache. Once I make resources transportable to road, powerline, and pipeline constructions, I'll reduce the amount of global resources the players start off with so that they must transport the localized resources they produce at their buildings. I'll give the players just enough resources to start their part of the economy. I also have to change the transportation management to allow corporations to pay other corporations for transportation and to do it automatically based on an auction model. Plus there's all the fun graphs and stats I've yet to add.
