I have to give this book 3 stars not because it isn't a good book, but for a book titled "Beginning Mobile Game Programming", there should be no prerequisite steps needed to read this book. Beginning to me means the most basic level. I bought the book and was informed that I needed to have a handle on Java already before jumping into it's latter pages.

The book provides a primer on Java but its not a beginner style primer, its a list of commands in java and what they do. You have to figure out how to piece them in yourself.

So to me personally I can't give a completely fair rating on the book because I didn't understand what I was doing, I was just doing because it said so. So I would say if you have a good understanding of the basics of Java, then go for it, It's well written but the title is a little dishonest.
