Why, if there's a lot of people preferring the old full style (for the dailies only) the staff keeps trying what users say against (Clicky)? Is this some new attitude which come with the new page layout?

By the way (since I feel a "some people prefer the other way" argument comming) the new GD.Net has a poll system, use it.

Rant mode: Off
I didn't even click the "Read More" links because the summaries looked kind of complete... just too short.
@Matias Goldberg: More importantly, the staff has said that they're going to try it for a week or two and see how it goes, then change back. It would be just as silly to drop the new system the moment a handful of complaints come up as it would be to persist with it against the desire of everyone reading.

Believe me, I'd prefer the entirety of my ramblings were on the front page, so I'm all for you guys continuing to say "hey don't do this"

Hey don't do this. I'll stop reading (because I get tired of clicking through to things that should be where the click link was).
As long as they promise to keep it back leveraging the readers opinion, that's fine.

I've been feeling a bit of "I'll do it my way, jerk" attitude lately; even though it may not be the case. But participation is something that doesn't just have to be there, it has to appear like it's there.

By the way having the same members arguing (myself included, staff members too) in favor or against it doesn't help either.

I'd like it to be a customizable thing at some point, but I'm just not sure that is going to happen. One of the main problems I see with the full story being posted is that we end up with too few stories on the front page, because there just isn't room for more. That said, it seems like the majority hate the new format (writers and readers alike) so we are going to have to look at other options this week.
I honestly wouldn't mind if it was all after the break, with the opening paragraph as the summary (a la every blog in the world). Right now the whole separate-intro paragraph plus summary is really confusing - you don't really know whether to read the front page or the actual entry, and to read both is both redundant and unsatisfying.
I agree with that approach swiftcoder. It was the original intention, but communication on that was lost somewhere.
