Major consumer camera brands I haven't tried yet: Canon, Fuji, Pentax, Samsung. I think I'll pick up something by all four in the coming year just for the hell of it.
It's amazing how bloody expensive it is for shipping from most of the hobby electronics sites. What's the point of a $20 microcontroller if you're going to charge me another $15 to mail it? Get on board with Amazon or something, guys.
Okay, starting to get a feel for Windows 8. Discovery is extremely poor; the OS provides you no hints whatsoever on doing stuff. So here's the hint. You know how on Mac, right click is not required to do anything? Well in Win8, right click is required to do EVERYTHING. Things make a lot more sense once you start right clicking at random.
Initial impressions of Windows 8: mind bogglingly, jaw droppingly, shockingly idiotic design. The Metro interface is severely brain damaged and the "Desktop" interface is a limping, injured Win7. MS is going to catch a lot of extremely well deserved flack over this. Vista was probably less of a disaster.
I have a Nokia Lumia 900 (AT&T 3G) phone in blue, essentially unused, for sale. I pulled it out of the box and poked around with it basically once. Let me know if you'd like to buy it, I'm open to offers.
Just got back from practice with Hopkins Sport Taekwondo club. I missed TKD training. Really feels good to be back.
Letting the camera meter exposures at the Grand Prix was a bad idea, it got confused every time a car cut through the center of a frame.
A 400 lbs or so lady at Safeway today held up two 12-pack boxes of pastries and asked me, "which one of these looks more appetizing?" I politely declined to answer.
YouTube recommends that 1080p be submitted at an 8 Mbps bitrate. OTA broadcasts are at about 20, Blu-Ray maxes out at 40, and my camera's last file was at 92. Ick.
Probably won't have power for the rest of the week. Guess I will be spending a lot of time at work...
