I think we should probably limit ourselves to one image that shows our particular style, as there are plenty of other forums dedicated to this stuff.
Here's a dude in leather armour. I think the style originally came from the semi-realistic 80s anime like Robotech or more recently Xenogears. I scanned and coloured a pencil sketch.

Two images from the same individual which shows two different styles is just as good as two images from two different people.

Here are two background pictures (note: don't expect anything interesting
) I did. They'd go, with a bit of tweaking, into menus, title screens, etc. Done with photoshop 6:
Space/sun type thing
Title screen for a Sokoban clone
They're a bit barren because I plan to draw onto them at run-time using transparencies, etc. Btw - programmer art
.
EDIT: It's probably worth noting that I had nVidia Digital Vibrance set to low when I did those pics. It makes the colours more interesting.

Yes, I like sheep :D
The images are too big to fit in here, so here''re the links:
Sleeping sheep -> Acrylic paint.
Jumping, happy sheep -> Aquarell.
As you can see, these pics are obivously not programming-related, but I also do some other things than programming in my free time.
I don''t own a scanner, so the pics are taken with a dig.camera.

Well, I guess I could shell out something I am working on. I don't like drawing most of the time, so my art is few and far between. I seem to get better by leaps and bounds though. Oh, forgot to mention that I use colored pencil.

To all of you unfortunate enough to be using Geocities: use an anonymizer. For example:
1) Get the URL of the image you want to display.
2) Append it to the following address:
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/
3) Put the whole thing in your image tag like this:
<img src="http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.geocities.com/account/images/imagename.ext">
Later,
ZE.
//email me.//zealouselixir software.//msdn.//n00biez.//

These are all examples of my art background in sketch art and the last one is of recent digital paint. I need to go to school desperately because I have only been drawing since i was 15.
hope you enjoy these though people.
oh, a note on the side. Hase, I would love to speak with you. as one artist to another. I really admire you and your work and perhaps we could meet somtime in an msn or icq chat. i would love to meet you.

I must add, I can''t draw worth of beans. I find this stuff very inspirational. In fact, I''m learning from seeing this art. I was inspired to do my first pathetic sketch. Though I tried to put emotion and a bit of mystery into it, it''s so bland.
I''m not sure I fail in this area because I''m not able or I don''t know technique and lack of practice. I''ll keep sketching though and see if any improvement developes.
