Hi!
I''ve been "hard-working" on a Real-Time-Strategy game
for 3 months. Actualy it does not have a title so far, but
I have two screenshots, which I can share you with.
The game is an Age of Empires "clone" in fully 3D environment.
I hope you''ll like the pictures
A playable "demo" version will be available in 2-3 weeks (maybe)
the images can be found here:

The models and skeletal unit animations have been made by me
with my own 3d-object modeler
The data transfer restriction is not a cool thing. :/
I''ve uploaded a smaller images:

>Its painfully obvious you''re a programmer and not an artist, but that doesn''t really matter...<
I''m not sure what you''re talking about? The graphics look very good. Yeah the units could be a little smaller, but regardless it looks great.
Good job.
Actually now that I looked at your second screenshot, I like the effect of the huge units. If the huge effect was what you were going for, then I like it.

Hi!
So, the units are really bigger than they should be
BUT it''s because the "construction" of the map. The Game environment is block based, and all the units take one or more blocks depending on the size eg: Catapults take 4 blocks.
I''m planning to make Workers and Warriors a bit smaller.
The units are made of 200-250 polys.
It''s too few for the size, but too much for the size of the army. The unit limit is 256 right now. In a great battle, the
25-30000 polys can kill the framerate
p.s.
For the unit/building size differences take a look at Warcraft 2

Hello,
Short notice about the BigMan
This game is being written just for the kicks, I have a pile of theory and ideas on visual things, pathfinding and stuff, and I wanted to put them all together in one program. Besides this game style is one of my favorite
Well, I wrote about the block based game map, and the pathfinding is uses this blockmap, therefore the unit movement is a bit like zig-zag thing. The standing humans can only be at the exact block center, and the moving ones can move from a block to an other
Now, I have ideas, how to make it smoother like in AOE2 or Warcraft3, but I think I keep this for the next game
So, the units must fill the entire block in size, to reach each other in battles.
Because of this effect, I had two choises:
1. Using the same blockmap for map tiles and for units (this is the current situation)
2. Using a smoother blockmap for units and pathfinding
The second case makes the pathfinding much slower and takes more memory, but I''m gonna find out something
have fun..

whoa, you like just released it, lucky me! :D dling right now. couldn''t look at the ss cuz geocities wouldn''t let me (bandwidth exceeded), but i am guessing this is from your game:

it''s obvious that it''s not your first game, but your first RTS game (right?)!
u''ll get more comments after i play it.
ok i played it and i have to say, this,... this is the best game i''ve ever seen made by one person. where did you get all those amazing models with so many animations? the gameplay is amazing, graphics are very well done. i can''t imagine how you could''ve accomplished THAT in 3 months. it''s just mind blowing...
ps. after playing for half an hour i moved my camera over black unexplored area and it started to load something from hd. a second later i was back in windows without any error message.
ps2. it does have a name! The Dark Legions, isn''t that right?
