I finally have a decent build of my engine working, and would like to know how it runs on other people's machines. It runs in 640x480x16 and uses MP3s and WAVs as sound sources. The FPS counter sucks ass, and I need a new one, but on map1, I get around 550 FPS and on map2 more like 800 with a Athlon 500 and TNT2. These are probably wrong, but at least I will have a frame of reference.

Well crap... Did you have the mp3 in the same dir as the exe? Try taking another mp3 and swapping it, just keep the names the same. I''ll try to think of what could be causing it...

God I am a moron today.
I forgot to change the name of the MP3. Make sure the MP3 is named 'mp3.mp3'. I uploaded a fixed version if you want to DL it again.
Duh. Sometimes I wonder how I manage to live.
Edit: The first time the mp3 plays it plays fine, but after that, it jumps around at the end a little. It really doesn't matter as long as you use long mp3s, but I thought I would mention it.

yeah, it works. and 60 frames on a k6-2 400, 128mb RAM, 2MB vid mem doesn''t sound THAT bad.
but it crashes when i exit, you got some bad memory leaks there... (i am using w2k, could be that win9x doesn''t complain about them)

75.5, on an Athlon 500@700 with 128 megs of RAM, and 2xVoodoo2 SLI(I love saying thatexept da voodoo thing, kinda old now).

The voodoos don''t matter, it uses your primary card 
I like your choice of proc though, I have a 650 core in mine that I''ll be taking to 750 when I get an extra 60 bucks to spend on a OC card.
I found and fixed all the leaks I could find, they were''t all that massive (a few KB), and I''ll upload a new version tonite.

hmm, do all of you guys overclock their athlons?
i am pretty happy with my athlon 700 and don''t think the minor performance increase is worth the decreased lifetime of my highend cpu
but anyways i wonder HOW you overclock... you can''t set the multiplier (at least I can''t) so you set a higher fsb clock? but you can''t get over 133mhz fsb and if you have your 500er at 700 that''s not possible that way...
so how to do it?
