Could someone explain to me what .tga files, i know they r some sort of picture files. And also is it possible to convert .bmp files to .tga. I want to know how to load .tga files, because i want to apply them to my objects in Opengl.

This has alot of good info on the tga format http://www.wotsit.org/download.asp?f=tga2 there's a good picture of it on page 4 (i think).
