Help making a basic graphics engine (2D overhead)
I was wonderingm if possible, for someone with spare time to help walk me through as much of making a basic graphics engine for a game I am making. I just need to get through the basic routines and functions and can then expand on my own.
The graphics engine will be for a top view, isometric 2D turn-based strategy game that I am making for a school/ personal project. I am currently using Dev-C++ but will be switching to VC++ soon. If possible I would like someone with some DirectX experience, but this is not mandatory.
Or if you know a great website that would help create a graphics engine I would much appreciate that also.

You can''t really expect that of anyone.
Check the "For Beginners" page on this site, check the various existing libraries such as SDL, Allegro, etc. to see how they do it. Check the Articles section for hundreds of tutorials. Go asking people (here) once you have specific questions.

I''ll move that to the beginner forum. They often team up to do small projects there, so perhaps you''ll find someone interested in creating a 2D engine together with you.
