I am sort of a newbie, but not a newbie newbie. I am starting with directX (directDraw) i have managed to create a blank window after a lot of work using Visual C++ 6.0. all i want to do is display a bitmap in that screen but everything i try turns up a cropper. Usually what happens is that it compiles ok but then the program stops working. I have isolated the problem to the surface creation but can''t do anything about it! Can anyone send me some simple source code that compiles properly that displays a bitmap into a window, so i can see where i am going wrong. thanx ya''ll, THIS IS THE BEST WEB SITE EVER!!!! thedude
