3dfx, opengl, and gamma
In my 3d engine, I use a double intensity gamma ramp for overbrightening my scene, and everything appeared to be fine. I call SetDeviceGammaRamp() on my TNT2, and all is well. But on 3dfx cards, I check for WGL_3DFX_gamma_control, and if it''s present I use the wglSetDeviceGammaRamp3dfx() (I think that''s the function name. If that''s not it, it''s a memory lapse and not a bug). On the voodoo and voodoo2 boards I''ve tested this on, there''s no problem getting a pointer to this function.
The problem is when I call it. On the voodoo, the call fails and returns FALSE, but on the voodoo2 it succeeds but doesn''t actually change the gamma level as specified. I''m passing the exact same values that work successfully on my TNT, so I don''t know what the problem could be. Any advice is appreciated.
