Does anybody know if I can develop Playstation games without buying the "Yaroze" or any special hardware? I''ve tried searching in google, but I couldn''t get anythink useful. Thanks in advance. theNestruo Syntax error in 2410 Ok

Depends what you mean by "special hardware", but some people are apparently doing it with an Action Replay & Caetla. You still need some hardware (e.g. Action Replay) to be able to debug, and burning a CD (even a CDRW) every time you want to test is like going back to the dark ages.

Of course as with all "home brew" development anything you produce won''t run on an unmodified machine, and even if you did manage it, Sony would sue you as soon as you released to the public.

I have a yaroze - unfortunately, my link cable has gone missing and Sony don''t seem like they''re going to lift a finger to help out. While I was browsing about a bit for any help, I found there are some people building the link cables on their own, and apparently they can be used with a proper PS as well. I don''t know who or where or what the legal implications might be - just thought I''d throw this out there. Good luck!

Our University has a couple of labs filled with Yarozes as part of my course is devoted to console programming. I''ve ''heard'' that programs you write on the Yaroze can be burnt to CD and played in a regular Playstation. Its just finding out how that you need to do.
