Never read it, but be very careful, look at in a bookstore if you can. More than once I''ve bought a cool looking game programming book of the ''net that was giving good reviews and it was a total pit of a book. Always read the people who gave it the worst review too before you buy.

Good luck, make a good choice!

DO NOT BUY THAT BOOK! WHATEVER YOU DO!

i bought that book like 3 weeks ago! it is sooooooooooo bad!

it uses directx 8.0 and creates the most complicated code to do the simplest things!!!!!! just to create a sprite and blt it to the screen, you had to create like 12 classes (complex ones) and a txt file! its crazy. the way i did it took 1 class, and thats it!

he takes OOP, and creates a class to do everything. every step is a class, and its needlessly complicated. OOP for games is great, but when you have to use 38, yes count them 38 CLASSES to create a simple game... its too much.

i hate the "Mirus" game library he tries to get you to use. half of the book is wasted on superficial information. it doesnt even touch 3d stuff.

burning your money is better spent than buying this book.

i code therefore i am.

I read a few chapters when I was in a bookstore. It didn''t really impress me. If I remember correctly, English wasn''t the author''s first language, and in some places it''s just real awkward reading. Like the poster before said, if you can, go to a bookstore and take a look through the book and make sure it''s something you''re willing to purchase.
