Give me something to do with my site.

Ok.. I want to do something somewhat useful with my webspace so I was thinking about reviewing peoples indie games. I don''t get a ton of traffic (I was getting about 100 uniques a day but that slacked off with the downtime that accompanied my redesigning, it will probably return to normal sometime) but it might be enough to give your game a little bit of public awareness it wouldn''t have otherwise. I''ll also try hosting freeware/shareware games on a limited basis, though im not sure if that will work out in the long run. And one last thing... Don''t get the wrong impression, I don''t run a professional site (but if you glance at it quick it could pass ). I talk about alot of random stuff, so if you dont want your game associated with my bullshit then, well, this probably isn''t for you. So anyways, if you have anything completed/polished that you wouldn''t mind showing off, gimme. If not, i''ll find something else to do with my time. [EDIT] And please don''t ask me to ask my handful of readers to beta test your software Finish it up - then get in touch with me. [My site|SGI STL|Bjarne FAQ|C++ FAQ Lite|MSDN|Jargon]

I like the pinball news. It was entirely humorous.

weird
Thanks People seem to like the dry sense of humour.

I'm still finishing up the new version but its mostly backend stuff, that's pretty much what it will look like.

Hey I do got something

Im also trying to improve the traffic on my site, without success. (Look at a post before yours, called Pacmarin - please test). Its not finished, but im on my way. Been updating it oftenly and so...

If youre looking for something to do with your site, try some ideas on opensource small games (like mine.

Its always cool to discuss those ongoing projects like in sourceforge.net
The idea to review small games was good.
You can always start to review my game! Download it at Enselic''s Corner

Wow, $200 for four tickets? Is that American dollars? I got a ticket for running a red and it was $130. Of course three of yours are not moving violations but still. I hate New Jersey.

I'm frequently bored and may become a regular viewer of your site if it gets content. You can review my 90%-complete game Dragon's Curse, it's a 2D Mario-esque platformer. Only four levels are done, with the fourth actually just being partly complete.

By the way, those banners are way too bright. The other colors are nice and the yellow works for links, but the banners need to be darker. Cyan maybe?

I appreciate the positive feedback I''ve spent alot of time messing around with it so it''s cool to know i''m not the only person who gets anything from it. Like I said I''m mostly working on the backend at the moment, and since school is winding down this semester updates are coming slow. I got a few requests for some stuff from my archives so ill put those up this weekend, though.

To understand the color scheme you''d have to have understand a little bit about the origins I guess I could tone down the yellow a bit though. I run in 1600x1200 so it''s not as prominent as it is in some lower resolutions. And well, I like yellow.

I played a bit of Enselics game and it was pretty fun. Since i''m not home I just had to settle for screenshots of CGP''s, but I''m a fan of sidescrollers and it looks very well done.

I''m working on the format for reviews atm and should have something to show for it next week sometime. I''ll also show anyone who submits a game what I''m going to say beforehand so they can make suggestions/corrections.

I''ll probably avoid things like ratings because I''m not interested in ripping apart someones hard work I''ll just focus on the positives (not to say either of the games mentioned above have any negatives that come to mind, just in general).

Also if you guys could contact me and tell me a little about the devolopment time, tools used, language, or anything else post mortem style it''d be helpful.
Woops, me. ^

Oh, and from the four tickets I got the no insurance one dropped; The cop was just being a dick. It also helps a little when you go in person i guess, he said he gave me the lowest fine allowed by law in each case.

I run in 1400x1050. The yellow banners look good at quick glance but when reading the small text the bright yellow banners are distracting.
