How hard is it to impliment split screen play, 4 players? How much does it slow the game down, 3d 2d? Thanks if you could answer this for me, anyone who has done this before.

I''ve coded a split-screen game some years ago. It was a 2D bird-eye-view tanks game. The split-screen made possibile two-players game on the same computer. Kinda easy to do, effective and fast.

Generally speaking, I think it depends on the "size" of the game. In the tanks game I coded there was not-so-many heavy computations to do. In a 3D game it''s likely to be not playable.

Moreover, four players are more than two... the computations involved (for both the rendering and the gameplay) are (almost) doubled.

BTW, do you think to render the four views in the same screen or on separate screens?
