Creation science makes me embarassed to be a Christian. When are people going to understand that the Bible is a wonderful story that cannot be taken literally due to the changes deliberately introduced to create more politically appealing interpretations of said document.
OTOH, if the Bible can''t be taken literally then what makes you think certain believes that are pretty essential to "mainstream" christianity (like the resurection of Christ, the virgin birth, etc) aren''t just happy stories?
BTW, I''m not saying Christ didn''t have some great teachings that everyone oughta follow, but I mean when you say you''re a "christian" that usually implies that you believe traditional Christian stuff that depends on the Bible being pretty literal.
(Note: I''m trying really hard not to say anything inflamitory here, but I can''t really explain what I''m trying to say the way I want. I hope you guys understand what I''m trying to say!)

I guess that will happen when people stops judging others for what they are/belive. That's not christian at all.
You don't have to be proud of being christian. Pride doesn't belong to chrisitianity, if it were, our leader wouldn't have been put naked,hitted,spitted,ridiculized and crucified like a pig in public... and we wouldn't want to be like him.

Then, switch to another religion. All the western religions worship the same God anyway. If you don't mind being "alone", you can also believe in God while not adhering to any particular religion. Like Homer

Reread the first two chapters of Genesis and tell me how you can be a Christian without being a creationist, for any suitable traditional definition of "Christian" and "creationist." Or, if you insist that the creation story isn't literal, give at least a brief synopsis of how it is to be taken as symbolic (i.e. some of the symbols, how "God said 'this' and 'this' happened" doesn't mean what it says, etc.).
