I guess I put that into the wrong forum before, so here we go again... The download: http://home.arcor.de/fam_endlich/ZombieVille.ace The whole thing is relatively simple! At the beginning, select a level file (.tga). There are several in the package (Zombie lab is good!). Then click the little "Set default" button, then "Apply and restart". Now choose a speed (one of the five little buttons) and there you go!!! In the upper right corner you see how many females (pink), males (red) and zombies (white) you have in the map. On the left you can see them move around... The zombies try to infect people (by touching them), so that they turn into zombies, too. The people try to run away from the zombies. If a man and a woman meet (and they are ready), the produce a new citizen ;-) ! Right then, play with the values, create your own maps, and enjoy!! (Maps are simple tgas, 256*256, the a-channel is the collision map) If you have any cool ideas, criticism or whatever, tell me!!! Because I want to add some cool features, funny things or whatever to make the whole thing more interesting!! PS: I was inspired for this project by this link (http://kevan.org/proce55ing/zombies). At first I only tried to recreate that thing (as you might see ;-) ), the I tried to add some new elements....but I''m still working on that.

Emm, there is a problem.

After I select the level, the image is rendered on top of the dialog that allows you to change settings. Thus, I can''t really see it, although if I randomly click the area where it supposedly is, I will sometimes hit the right button.

Huh? That''s impossible!!!! ;-)
I''ve tried that on 4 different machines (Really different, all kinds of ages) and never had any problem like that.... *STRANGE*

I tried zombiville a few days ago and thought it was a great little app :-D. I didn''t have any problems, I think it might be your machine VanKurt. Anyways keep up the good work.

AIM ME: aGaBoOgAmOnGeR
I had the same problem - the image drawn over the widgets.

My system:

Windows ME
GeForce 3
P4 1.7Ghz
256 RDRAM

Apart from that it is nice - I like how panic spreads |-)
Er..i think the ACE file is corrupt because apparently there is nothing in it.. Ive tried redownloading. :s

Well, this is the time when you have to introduce the LOG file, where you shall log all activities during startup - loading textures, initializing VBs and stuff - so that you can trace down the bug.
The fact that it works for you never means it works for others. My game never crashed at my PC, but when I introduced LOG, I cleared lots of bugs that I never have experienced on my PC.

LOG, Baby, LOG !

Whew! Surprise! So there are some people interested in that thing :-D

Since that upload I changed a lot...I''ll try to put the current (and almost final) version on the net this evening ( German time ;-) )

Hope I can fix that bug.... (I''ll try that with a log file!)
Allright!!! Here it is!

I''ve changed some things, added a readme, improved the log-thing, added a few maps and debugged a lot.
Hopefully this Window bug now works...
