2d polygons

I wrote an engine that keeps track of an array of polygons, which are represented as an array of points. The engine calculates all necessary stuff, but now I''ve reach a problem I just can''t solve. Collisions between moving polygons. I, ofcourse, can check for collision, but how about at what angle should the collided polygons move AFTER the collision. How does one polygon affect another when it hits it? Any info? Please, thanks. fatG
