Einsteinian physics
Just a thought....would it be possible to make a game physics model based on Einstein''s theory that everything moves in straight lines only space is bent?
I suppose you would run into problems like trying to process infinity...and the fact it would be damn slow.

but it could be possible. tons and tons of work taking ages and ages to write that. finally when you finished the engine, just what kinda game are you gonna make with it? pong based on einstein''s theory????

uhhh...maybe not pong...
if you did write it, would it prove his theory?

depends
are you gonna have to ractrace the light being reflected by the ball to see if it''s going to be affected by larger masses and gravity fields?

uhh i dunno . i''m not actually going to try to implement it

I''m sure you could, but it would probably run extremely slow. You''d probably need a quantum computer (too bad Einstein didn''t agree with quantum theory... hehe )
If you code it, they will come...

a raytracer is always slow
but have you seen those huge SGI machines?
go check out SGI Origin2800 or somefin like that. that baby had 512 processors on it with 1 TB of ram (Tera Byte = 1024 Giga Bytes)

EDIT: editted it now happy?
i was just too lasy to do it last night

Pouya, in the words of our predecessors, "why didn''t you just edit your first post?"

unfortunately, Einstein''s theories are actually wrong anyway. All of Einsteins theories were based on the fact that the speed of light is constant, and that nothing can go above the speed of light. Well some physicists have managed to accelerate light to 300 times it''s normal speed, which throws a spanner in the works for Einstein.
