MUDs...
Can you program a mud using C++? I''m wondering cus I''m probably not going to be able to use graphics any time soon (I am the stupidest person alive) and I was also wondering if there was a way to put the game on the inter net. But befor i get ahead of myself, I have most everything figured out, but not the NPCs, How do make them move from room to room?
not mud
but me and NighofSorrow started doing that talker thing
it''s kinda similar, except that you dont go around killing others for getting points

one of my friends is writing a mud. I bet he could answer your questions. his e-mail is:

If you can''t do graphics you could join some other team.
Anyway if you really want to make a mud check out LPC, or the nightmare lib. Its a lot more work than you think to make a good mud.

McChuie, have you checked out my battle engine? It's on the FF7 Analysis Thread. It might help you if you want to learn how to do simple battle engines.

Ok, now back to programming, DarkMage139, your info was a great help, i have a pretty good battle system now (to my standerds) but I dont know how to make it save my hp, i loop it after the people get hit and than when the next hit comes its starts out without any dammage considered, how can i program it to remember my stats?
Do you mean File I\O? Because if you do, then I'm not the person to ask.

Of course, if you mean you're just looping, and whenever you do the "Display Stats" thing, it doesn't show...
OK, here's some C++. Each of the objects has it's own data and functions. When you initialize them as object instances, like:
CPlayer* cloud = new CPlayer(NAME_CLOUD);
it creates a new instance of the class known as cloud. Cloud has data like HEALTH, MANA, etc.
When he gets hurt, his health points go down, and that's displayed on his stats. Now if it isn't displaying in your program, I don't know what's the problem, but you can eMail the code to me at "lazercool@mail.com".

Sounds to me like you're reinitializing the HP variable at some point. Like you're setting it back to full HP each loop.

Here''s what the screen looks like.
you get hurt for 6 points
your hp is now 10
he gets hurt for 8 points
his hp os now 8
than you press enter and this shows
you get hurt for 3 points
your hp is now 13
he gets hurt for 10 points
his hp is now 6
so the program doesn''t consider the last attack. How can i fix this?
I know this isn''t the most interestin program but I''m gonna make it better when i actually get it working -_^

Make a health variable and make sure it is a global variable or at least outside the loop. It sounds to me like you have int hp = 16 somewhere in your loop and it should be outside of it.
Hope that helps.
