I know they passed out beta CDs at Meltdown, so has anyone posted the contents for download? Thanks, AG

Why use beta ?
Beta sucks.
If you've waited so far, wait a little longer for the final.

I want the Beta so I can get a start on the new interface. I don''t plan on using it for "production" code.
Well in that case I have no idea

I found it using FTP search.

ftp.moldtelecom.md /pub/windows/misc/directx8beta.zip

The only official way to get the beta is by joining the DirectX beta program, signing a nondisclosure agreement, and returning it to Microsoft. You have to apply and be accepted into the program first. Once you''ve done that, you''ll get a username and password to Microsoft''s beta test site and will be able to download the beta version.

That is the only way you can legally obtain it. Any downloads on the web and freely available at this time are warez-type stuff, and ILLEGAL.

I am on the DX8 beta and there is still plenty of time to get in on the Beta before final. Just send an e-mail over to the DX team for more information.

Sorry, not on me, I''ll post it up when I get home though...poke around on the DX site, I think that''s where I found it.
