For ages now I''ve been looking for some decent sound archives online, for all sorts of multimedia apps (including games), and have a terrible time finding one. (particularyly for uni proj''s I can''t be bothered making my own sounds, and ambient sounds are difficult to do without proper sound equip.)
I had a quick search thru some old postings on this board, but to no avail.
Anyone got any sites they want to share?
Most of the online sound effects archives are,in my opinion, pretty terrible. Low quality and limited selection are the norm. You would be better off trying to find someone to team up with who''s speciality is sound.
http://soundamerica.com/ is OK ( but again, limited selection and questionable quality )
If you''re serious about doing it yourself I would suggest some of the higher quality sound effects libraries available on CD. Thses can be quite expensive but worth it if you work on a lot of projects that require sounds. ( don''t bother with those $10-20 sound CDs you find at compUSA and such, they are complete crap )
